In this episode of the Inventory Nation Podcast, I’m delighted to be joined by Jessica Reuterskiold, CVT, MS, the Director of Inventory Management and Pharmacy Operations at Badger Veterinary Hospital.
Jessica originally joined Badger Veterinary Hospital in May of 2006 as a veterinary assistant in the small animal department. She then joined the large animal department in October of 2006 and became a certified veterinary technician. In 2008, Jessica left Badger to pursue a research technician role at Covance Laboratories in Madison. Through her 9 year Covance career, she climbed the ladder and served in a variety of project manager roles supporting a variety of global companies. Jessica then moved on to a new challenge at Kerry Ingredients as a Commercialization Manager in their pharmaceutical business unit. An opportunity to rejoin the Badger team in September 2019 as the inventory and pharmacy operations manager was presented!
Jessica holds a BS in Animal Science from Iowa State University (2003) and an MS in Pharmacology and Toxicology from Michigan State University (2013). She is also a CVT.
Jessica and her husband Ryan live in Janesville with their two miniature dachshunds (Gertrude and Mildred) and cat (Gracie). Jessica also has two Norwegian Fjord Horses- Kandi and Snohvit. Jessica and Kandi compete in combined driving events (CDEs) and pleasure driving shows during the summer. Jessica and Ryan also enjoy traveling, snowmobiling, and cheering on the Green Bay Packers.

During our conversation, Jessica shares her advice with other inventory managers: “I would encourage them to participate in your Inventory Strategy Network, even if they are just lurkers on the message boards because there is a lot of information there — even being involved in the Facebook group. Soak in as much knowledge as you can, as there is so much out there. There are so many people out there in the same situation; you are not alone!”
